COSL recruits 350 new employees after contract bonanza for the Norwegian Continental Shelf

Having secured new rig contracts with Vår Energi and receiving renewed trust from Equinor, COSL Drilling Europe will operate three rigs on the Norwegian continental shelf. This results in a need for up to 350 new employees.

Earlier this fall, COSL Drilling Europe was awarded several new rig contracts on the Norwegian Shelf. The drilling rigs COSLProspector will in the coming years drill for Vår Energi in the Barents Sea, and the rigs COSLPromoter and COSLInnovator will drill for Equinor in the North Sea. All three units has secured contracts of up to five years each.

COSL has for many years invested heavily in providing low carbon drilling rigs that are the most efficient in the market. This has been important part for the new contracts.

«We are very proud of entering into very important contracts for the company. This is a recognition of our skilled staff and to our safe and efficient 6. generation Harsh Environment rigs”, says Frank Tollefsen, CEO of COSL Drilling Europe.

With COSLProspector to drill in the Barents Sea, COSL will operate three drilling rigs on the Norwegian Shelf. This, including the additional new rig contracts, results in need for many new employees.

«The team of COSL Drilling Europe is our most important asset and our enthusiastic and positive company culture is being recognized by our clients and partners. The new and solid agreements will result in a need to expand the team with more motivated and dedicated employees. We experience that our focus on technology and energy efficiency at our rigs for the future, makes us a very attractive workplace”, Tollefsen says.

COSL estimate a total need for 350 new employees on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, whereof 320 offshore and 30 onshore.
